Windshield Replacement
Joe’s Auto Glass replaces hundreds of windshields each year in Humboldt County. We also replace plenty of side windows, rear windows, and sunroofs. We use premium glass and Sika brand urethane adhesives that meet industry requirements and set quickly so you can be back on the road as soon as safely possible.

Joe’s Auto Glass has many windshields for many makes and models in stock. If the windshield is not in stock, we can order it and usually have it delivered within 24 hours. A typical windshield will usually take around an hour and a half to two hours start to finish for replacement. On average, after 2 hours, the seal is set and the vehicle is safe to drive! Be sure to ask about your specific vehicle when you call.
If you don’t think your windshield is an important part of your vehicle, think again. As they say in the industry, “There’s more behind your windshield than you think!”

Did you know:
- Your windshield is part of the airbag system in your vehicle, and supports your airbags once they are activated.
- Your windshield offers additional roof-crush resistance during a roll over.
- Your windshield prevents passenger ejection in certain types of collisions.
- Your auto glass replacement should only be done by trained, experienced, safety-oriented technicians.

Joe's Auto Glass Uses
Quality Sika Urethane Adhesives |
There are many ways a windshield can be improperly installed.
Here is a list of common mistakes untrained or inexperienced installers might make that could risk the integrity of your windshield:
- Using a lower quality urethane, or not using enough urethane adhesive.
- Not priming the windshield and pinch weld properly before installation, so the urethane adhesive does not stick to the window, or the vehicle itself.
- Not advising the customer of safe drive away times, and letting them drive away with a windshield that is not full adhered to the vehicle.
- Not removing rust and dirt that may collect around the pinch weld of the vehicle.
These bad practices jeopardize the strength of the bond which holds the windshield in place, and an improperly installed windshield could literally “pop out” if your vehicle were in a collision
A leak is also a good indication that the urethane adhesive may be compromised. Don’t ignore a leaky windshield, take it as a warning sign that something isn’t right.
